Other teachers were surprised that we were creating our own Learning Progressions since music is not covered by the Iowa Core Curriculum. They had just minor changes in wording for their constructive criticisms. Today, we worked on making the minor changes in the Learning Progressions that were recommended by the other teachers, then working on the Listening Skills and Intonation/Part Singing. On January 24th, we plan on working on and expanding the Learning Progressions we have been doing. We will Skype with Mandy being over in the Manilla Band Room and Ms. Book and Mr. Struve being in the Manning Vocal Room.

Feedback - It was easily understood. The terminology was math specific so confused a few nonmath educators. The progressions were easily identified.
Work Completed - We continued work on Algebra strand.
On Jan. 24th, the math team will be meeting in Manilla, MS Library.
No resources/instruction/help will be needed for our next meeting. We will continue with the Algebra Strand.

What did the team learn from the feedback received?
We heard from all groups that our format and flow is very good. We also saw that highlighting which classes were covering the 21st century concept was an idea that all groups supported.

What work was completed today in your study team?
We continued revising roles and responsibilities. We also worked on listing which classes are covering the concepts of financial literacy.

What is the team's plan for the next session (January 24)? Will you all meet in one location? Where? Or will your team meet via Skype and where will you be in each building?
We will be in Beth's room to continue developing learning progressions.

What resources / instruction / help does the team need?
Direction as to where we are to go from here. We are writing 21st century skills for everyone to be teaching and we only see a small percentage of the student population. How do we know how to write a progression for learning when we don't know how to reach every student.

We have clarification that verbs or complexity of skill can be used to show progression. The literacy has used both where others have just used verbs.
We condensed fluency into fiction and nonfiction (you need to look at those). We also modified section based on feedback (don't need to look at).
We will Skype between Manning and Manilla. Middle school people will be in Kristin's room. High school will be in Suzanne's room.
We hope that the Iowa Core will be up and running to work on writing.

We learned from our feedback that other content area members like how our initial progressions were broken down, but also realized that it is hard to choose where to go without many guidelines. Today in our content group we worked on Career Awareness/Readiness. Our plan for the next session is to meet in the Manning building.

We learned that verbs and complexity can both be used in showing progression. We modified according to feedback. We also added fluency to fiction and nonfiction (you need to look at that).
January 24th we will be Skyping. Middle school in Kristin's room and High school in Suzanne's room. We don't need anything.

We learned that we are on the right track and are making positive progress. Other groups had a information from the Iowa core as starting point and we needed to go back and incorporate skill headings to ours. Today we went back and made some changes you recommended in Team Sports Skills. We brain stormed ideas and started on weight training progressions. The next time we meet we will meet in Manilla in Mrs. Hansen's room. We will continue with weight training progressions and Life Time Sports. Review our weight training progressions and Life Time Sports to see if we are on the right track.

The feedback received was very beneficial. Most groups liked how we were detailed and most felt information could apply to a social studies classroom. We finished up the Economic LP today during our meetings. Our next session we will meet in the ICN room in Manning. We have all the resources we need to continue our learning progresssions. We hope to move onto behavioral sciences and geography during the next session

Suggestions were given about listing classes where skills were taught and we continue to work on content and then consider processes.
We completed the chemistry section of physical science.
We will meet in Manning in Tina's room.
At this time no resources are needed.

We learned that we probably need to be a little more specific on Drawing so that's what we worked today. Jean will come over to Manilla next time and then we will continue vocabulary on Painting and 3D. WE NEED TO LEARN HOW TO MAKE A CELL SO WE CAN ADD STUFF TO PAINTING PROGRESSIONS!!!!

I sent this once I thought but it never showed up. So here it is AGAIN!
We need to work on adding more specifics to the Drawing part. So were worked on that and added some things about vocabulary. Jean will come over to Manilla next time. We still need to find out how to add another cell to our part about Painting so we can add more.
